Imam Khamenei: Zionists responsible for profanity toward Prophet Muhammad

Imam Khamenei, the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution, has recently decried the French magazine Charlie Hebdo for outrageously republishing highly offensive cartoons depicting Islam’s Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), stating that such hostile moves are originate from the “deeply anti-Islamic policies” of Zionists and arrogant regimes.
In an official message this past,
Tuesday, Imam Khamenei remarked that “the grave and unforgivable sin committed”
by the French magazine once again “revealed the hostility and malicious grudge
harbored by the political and cultural organizations in the west against Islam
and the Muslim community.”
Ayatollah Khamenei also denounced as
completely “unacceptable” French politicians’ refusal to decry the profane
depictions and caricatures under the guise of respect for freedom of speech.
“The excuse of ‘freedom of
expression’ made by some French politicians in order not to condemn this grave
crime is completely unacceptable, wrong and demagogic,” he added.
Charlie Hebdo seriously annoyed French
Muslims and Muslims all over the world last week by republishing the insulting caricatures
of Islam’s Prophet on the eve of the trial of the main suspects in a deadly
attack on the magazine’s Paris offices in back 2015.
The weekly remarked that the
drawings “belong to history, and history cannot be rewritten nor erased.”
French President Emmanuel Macron
declined to condemn the blasphemous move, referring to the so-called freedom of
the press as well as expression
Moreover, Imam Khamenei’s statement went on to say that “It is the deeply anti-Islamic policies of the Zionists and arrogant powers that are behind these hostile moves, which emerge every now and then.”
