US steals oil through Iraqi territories

The United States of America continues to blatantly loot oil from the Syrian Al-Jazeera region through territories in Iraq.

“A US convoy, comprised of 30 tanker trucks laden with stolen Syrian oil has left the war-stricken country and sneaked into neighboring Iraq through the illegal Al-Walid crossing in the Al-Yaroubia area,” SANA reported.

The agency further stated that the US forces, in collusion with the Kurdish Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), have control over most of the oil fields located in northern and eastern Syria.

This news was reported to have been confirmed during a Senate hearing conversation between South Carolina Republican Senator, Lindsey Graham, and US Secretary of State, Mike Pompeo, back in July.

Bashar Al-Jaafari, Syrian United Nations envoy, has recently made the comment that the US Delta Crescent Energy company had “entered into a contract with the SDF, with the aim of stealing Syrian oil and depriving the Syrian state and Syrian people of the basic revenues necessary to improve the humanitarian situation, provide for livelihood needs and reconstruction.”

The US move occurs a couple of days after the US military announced its intention to strengthen its troops’ deployment in northeastern Syria, in spite of previous attempts to limit its regional presence– a step that politicians believe may escalate tensions between US and Russia.
