President Donald Trump and president-elect Joe Biden have different views of how the United States should relate to the rest of the world.

At a basic level, the divide can be seen in Trump’s “America First” doctrine and Biden’s embrace of more international cooperation.

A survey of academics, which was held by the Global Research Institute and the Carnegie Corporation underscores sharp divergences on key issues but expects bipartisan alignment next year on China, cyber-security, and counter-terrorism.

International relations experts believe that Trump and Biden will pursue starkly different policies across almost all major foreign-policy issues but especially with regard to multilateralism, climate change, and global public health.
