Covid19 claims life of ex-Persepolis defender Ali Ansarian
Former Iranian footballer and Perspolis club defender Ali Ansarian has died from the coronavirus after he was admitted to a hospital in Tehran on January 21.
Ansarian started his football career in Fajr Sepasi in 1996 and joined Persepolis two years later.
He also represented Iran's national football team from 1998 to 2007.
died at the age of 43 at the Farhikhtegan Hospital in Tehran, capital of Iran
on Wednesday, February 3.
Last week, Mehrdad Minavand, who represented Iran in the 1998 FIFA World Cup, died of COVID-19 in Tehran.
Minavand was also a member of the Persepolis football club.
The spokeswoman for Iran's Ministry of Health and Medical Education Sima Sadat Lari claimed 79 deaths caused by COVID-19 in Iran over the past 24 hours. The number of the total death toll reached 58,189.
