Iranian researchers design new medical gowns against COVID-19
Researchers in Iran have produced protective clothing for medical staff who treat patients with COVID-19.
This new advanced medical gown was designed and produced by students at Shahid Beheshti University in Tehran to protect healthcare workers against the coronavirus.
The new isolation gowns can help doctors and nurses better serve and treat patients, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Surgical isolation gowns are used when there is a medium to high risk of contamination and a need for larger critical zones than traditional surgical gowns.
The head of Tehran’s coronavirus Task Force, Alireza Zali, praised the team of researchers who developed the gowns, describing their effort as exceptional and innovative.
Zali said the new suits feature several advantages over older types, including an ergonomic design, high level of ventilation to reduce heat and perspiration, washability, lightness and comfort.
