Iranian coronavirus vaccine very effective against UK variant
Test results have shown that the coronavirus vaccine developed in Iran is the world’s most effective vaccine against the British variant, according to Minoo Mohrez, a member of Iran’s coronavirus task force.
Coviran Bearekat, the first coronavirus vaccine made by Iranian researchers was unveiled and injected into three volunteers during a ceremony on December 29, 2020.
No side effects have emerged from the homegrown vaccine on volunteers, and mass vaccination will begin next month after the final stage of the clinical trials, Mohrez said.
"We are compiling scientific articles about human trials of the vaccine, and if it is published, the world will undoubtedly be informed about the capabilities of this vaccine."
On January 27, Iran’s Health Minister Saeed Namaki said Iran will soon be one of the world’s important manufacturers of the COVID-19 vaccine.
