Senior Iranian and South African officials have held talks aimed at paving ground for bilateral cooperation on Information and communications technology (ICT).
The agreement was made by the deputy of Iran’s Ministry of Information and Communications Technology, Mohammad Khansari, and his South African counterpart, Mohlopi Phillemon.
The talks took place on Saturday in Geneva on the sidelines of
the World Summit on Information Society (WSIS) 2022.
The two sides agreed to exchange know-how and experience in the fields of ICANN, ITU, WSIS, and OEWG according to the Iranian Information Technology Organization.
Iran and South Africa enjoy a high capacity to cooperate due to South Africa's membership in the G20 and BRICS group, as well as the proximity of both sides' positions in international ICT indicators.
