Iran: A delegation of Nigerian parliamentarians conducts a working visit to Tehran

Iranian Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs Ali Bagheri Kani met with the Nigeria Parliamentary Friendship Group in Tehran on Wednesday.
The Iranian politician also urged the Nigerian parliamentary delegation to visit various achievements of the Islamic Republic of Iran in industrial, medical, scientific, technological, and defensive fields.
Software achievements are more important than precious hardware successes within the four decades because the Islamic Republic of Iran has been successful in turning threats into opportunities relying on the Iranian nation’s support so much that the enemies of the country are focused on getting in the way of the progress, he noted.
For his part, Head of Nigeria Parliamentary Friendship Group Salisu Iro Isansi expressed satisfaction with the trip to Iran, hoping that mutual and multilateral collaborations in different political and economic arenas will expand in line with the interests of both Iran and Nigeria.
The lawmaker also pointed to last week's visit by the Nigerian oil minister to Tehran and the signing of a memorandum of understanding between the two countries, describing it as a sign of determination among Iranian and Nigerian authorities to improve bilateral ties in different sectors.
On August 27, Nigeria’s Minister of State for Petroleum Resources Timipre Silva met with Iran’s Oil Minister Javad Owji in Tehran to sign a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to strengthen cooperation on energy.
