Iran Leader: Israeli regime to be brought to its knees in West Bank
Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, has lauded remarkable achievements by Palestinian resistance groups and sacrifices made by their youths in the occupied territories.
Ayatollah Khamenei made the remarks in a meeting with Ismail Haniyeh, head of the political bureau of the Palestinian resistance movement Hamas, and his accompanying delegation in Tehran on Wednesday.
The Leader lauded as “very important” the sense of responsibility in the young and faithful Palestinian generation and their individual and collective fight against the Israeli occupation, saying the West Bank is where the Israeli regime will be brought to its knees.
“The developments in recent days in Jenin and [the fact that] the Zionist military is surrounded by Palestinian youths are clear examples of this new era, which herald a bright future with a complete victory,” he said.
Highlighting the issue of Palestine as a core, the Leader said, “Just as much progress is made in [resolving] the issue of Palestine, progress will also be made in [other] issues pertaining to the Islamic Ummah.”
Referring to the perceivable differences made in the conditions of Palestine in comparison with the past two or three years, Ayatollah Khamenei hailed the greater presence of the youths on the field, which he said was coupled with their reliance on Islam.
Highlighting the importance of further unity and coordination among all resistance groups, the Leader noted, “In the recent battle of Gaza, we witnessed that the enemy attempted to cause rifts and divisions among resistance groups and to induce such an atmosphere, but all to no avail, thanks to the grace of God. Therefore, we should concentrate more on the issue of unity and coordination and tread on this right path with strength.”
Ayatollah Khamenei described the Gaza Strip as the “center of resistance,” adding, “But what will bring the enemy to its knees is the West Bank region, where good progress has been made so far.”
