Iran's President Raisi: Islamic Republic responsible for regional security

Iran's President Ebrahim Raeisi said Wednesday that Iranian forces are responsible for maintaining the security of the region, while the US and its allies are threat to the region.

Raeisi made the remarks during a ceremony honoring martyrs killed defending the holy shrines.

Raeisi said that the US and Israel were trying to demolish regional security with their plots.

“We owe whatever we have to martyrs,” he said, adding that their “message is resistance against enemies and their threats.”

He called the culture of sacrifice and martyrdom in the fight against oppression and injustice the grounds being prepared for the reappearance of the promised savior, Imam Mahdi, and new Islamic civilization.
